Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday condemned suicide attack on JUI-F stalwart, Deputy Chairman Senate, Abdul Ghafoor Haideri in Mastung, Balochistan and termed it a conspiracy against peace and development in the country. The matter was raised by Opposition Leader, Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman through a point of order. The Assembly resumed proceedings with Deputy Speaker Dr Meher Taj Roghani in the chair.

The opposition leader condemned the incident and said that 25 persons have been killed in the incident. However, he said that they struggle for the restoration of peace and ideological protection will continue. He said that the leadership of their party is under attack and four attacks have been made on their central chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman.

Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman said that no one can stop democratic process and stability in the country. He requested the chair to allow the house to offer Fateha for the eternal peace of the martyrs of the incident.

Fakhare Azam Wazir of PPP while condemning the incident and termed it an attack on the national security and said that elements behind such incidents want to damage national development, but will never succeed in their nefarious designs. Such attacks are deep conspiracy aimed at creating anarchy, fears and sense of insecurity in the people. Provincial Minister Shah Farman also condemned the incident and termed it a big conspiracy against the political leadership and country.

Anmna Sardar, a woman legislator of PML-N condemned the incident on behalf of her party and said that terrorists could not digest national development and urged political leadership for showing unity against them. Sardar Hussain Babak of ANP also condemned the incident and prayed for the eternal peace of martyrs and early recovery of the injured. Later, the Opposition Leader, Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman offered Fateha for the eternal peace of the martyrs and recovery of those injured in the incident.
